After a world premiere at BAFTA-Qualifying BFI Flare: London LGBTQ+ Film Festival - BFI Southbank, and a tour of 69 Oscar and BAFTA-Qualifying festivals we are so excited to have landed on the silver screen in your living room!
Treacle had it’s US premiere on this summer at Frameline43: San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, the longest-running, largest, and most widely recognized lesbian, gay, bi, transgender, and queer film exhibition event in the world.
Treacle is in collaboration with the Bisexual Resource Center and follows friends Belle and Jessie as they go away for the weekend and drunkenly hook up; what seems like an awkward slip up to firmly heterosexual Jessie, is in fact an incredible betrayal to bisexual Belle.

Directed by Rosie Westhoff, Treacle is the writing debut for Mini Productions’ award-winning actor and producer April Kelley (she/her) and explores her own experiences as a bisexual woman. The film aims to shine a light on the lack of visibility for bisexuals who only receive 1% of LGBTQIA funding worldwide each year, and supports the notion that bisexuality isn’t just a phase or an experiment nor is the ‘B’ there to just help the acronym roll off the tongue. April also stars alongside the born and bred New Yorker, Wilder Yari (they/them).

Katie Rotolo has developed and produced award winning films and series for television and streaming for over 10 years including 20th Century Studios, Hulu, Refinery29 and BAFTA Qualifying "Treacle" available on Prime Video. Katie is best known for drama and social impact films. She is a mental health advocate & Mental Health First Aider facilitating peer groups & mindfulness with Set Intentions, and a judge for Directing Change.

Alex Parker can be seen on set directing and producing content for Paper Ball Pictures. Alex is currently writing his first feature film screenplay and adapting a one-man show. Alex also served on the board of directors with The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company for nearly a decade; the company specializes in the works of William Shakespeare, and Alex helped produce, act in and/or direct over 2/3rds of The Bard’s canon.
